FMCCS and MCCSC will host our second annual Girls in Engineering, Math, and Science (GEMS) conference.  The conference is for girls in grades 5th  and 6th in Monroe County.  Girls will have the opportunity work with female role models and enjoy the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)!

Donations to our Annual Giving Campaign are used to help students succeed. Here are some of the ways your support may be used:

Great Grown Up Spelling Bee - October 12

John Whikehart and Yael Ksander took to the Great Grown Up Spelling Bee stage this year to lead our teams through an intense spelling competition.   As always Mr. Whikehart and his side kick did not disappoint the crowd.  Dressed as the the ever pestering Sam-I-Am the duo pronounced words, provided definitions, and created sentences that in his own words “aren’t helpful.”  But the sentences certainly add to the FUN! 

It was a tight competition with four teams surviving seven rounds.  That moved us to a spell down, where teams are given a white board, marker, and eraser.  The pronouncer gives 7…
