The Foundation of Monroe County Community is dedicated to providing resources to improve and enhance the educational development of all MCCSC Students.
Served in 2006-2007:
10,990 students participated in 66 grant projects totaling $50,372 104 teachers participated in professional development funded by FMCCS 860 first grade students benefited from vision screening 844 kindergarten students visited Wonderlab with their classes 827 kindergarteners or first graders spent a day at Peden Farm 70 second graders read with business people in Community Partners in Reading 27 upper classmen received scholarships and awards 20 high school students were honored for personal achievements 20 adult education students received scholarships for the GED 10,990 students benefited from the FMCCS Science Initiative 1,000 community members participated in Community Conversations about the future of public education 432 Lakeview students have a new fitness trail to use during and after school 172 fourth through eighth graders received additional reading instruction through Read 180
Since 1973, the Foundation has provided 1032 grants in 21 schools to support more than 340,000 students.
During the 2007-2008 school year, cumulative funding provided by FMCCS to the school corporation will exceed $1 million dollars!
